beyond blue: Press Release on alcohol and depression (posted 18/6/10)

Be a man about it! Start thinking about your drinking.

“Depression, anxiety and excessive drinking often go hand in hand. It’s common for men to use alcohol to try to make themselves feel better, but if they’re depressed or have an anxiety disorder, drinking can make a bad situation much worse.”

Remember those trees in Townsville? (posted 4/2/10)

If you were at the PLA National Conference in Townsville in 2007, then you will remember that Parks and Leisure Australia teamed up with the Townsville City Council and Greenfleet to plant 400 local native trees at the Murray Sporting Complex to make that year’s conference carbon neutral.

Townsville Mayor Cr Tony Mooney said the conference had been an opportunity for Townsville to showcase the Strand, the Ross River Parkway and the city’s great outdoor lifestyle to an influential national audience.

Nationally-renowned scientist, conference keynote speaker and member of Greenfleet’s Advisory Council Dr Graeme Pearman, Townsville Mayor Tony Mooney and PLA National President Steve Mason planted a tree and unveiled an interpretive sign near the BMX jump track at 1.15pm on Monday Sept 17th 2007.

Each and every plant was treated with its required dose of Terracottem Soil Conditioner!

Well, just look how the trees have grown!!
